I. Education/Student Discipline Committee Resolutions
E-1. The committee recommends and I so move that approval be given to amend the 2012-2013 out-of-district atypical student placement list and students exited from out-of-district placement in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
E-2. The committee recommends and I so move that approval be given to amend the list of students removed from the rolls [seven (7) students exited from February 1 through February 28, 2013 for a total of twenty-two (22) students for the 2012-2013 school year] who are not domiciled in this school district in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
E-3. The committee recommends and I so move that the board affirm the Superintendent's resolution of Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) conclusions for the period February 11 through March 1, 2013.
E-4. The committee recommendsand I so move that the board approve school calendar; twelve-month employee calendar and maintenance department calendar for the 2013-2014 school year in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
E-5. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve Academic Action Plans for the following schools: (a) Hannah Caldwell Elementary School; (b) Battle Hill Elementary School; (c) Connecticut Farms Elementary School; (d) Kawameeh Middle School; (e) Burnet Middle School and (f) Union High School for the 2012-2013 school year in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member. These action plans are required by the New Jersey Department of Education as a result of the target scores of the identified sub-groups during State standarized testing.
E-6. The committee recommends and I so move tht the board approve Charter School Tuitions forthe 2012-2013 school year in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
E-7. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve Battle Hill Elementary School as the location of the Extended School Year program for July, 2013.
E-8. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve re-registration of all students presently in grades 4, 5, 8 and 10 beginning in May 2013 for the 2013-2014 school year.
E-9. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve tuition contract agreement with Clifton Board of Education in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.

K. Operations Committee Resolutions
O-1. The committee recommends and I so move that pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:41-1 and P.L. 2009, Chapter 178, the board approve the following security drill reports for the 2012-2013 school year in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
O-2. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve the equipment, deemed to be unserviceable, to be advertised for disposal in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
O-3. The committee recommends and I so move that the board renew agreement with New Jersey School Boards Association for Schoolboardnet Services (paperless agenda) at the annual rate of $2,360 (no increase from last year) in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
O-4. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve Joint Transportation Agreement for the 2012-2013 school year with Morris Union Jointure Commission in accordance with the information n the hands of each board member.
O-5. The committee recommends and I so move that the board accept proposal for architectural services in connection with the Cupola Refurbishment at Connecticut Farms and Franklin Schools (Proposal No. P2012122) from Potter Architects, 410 Colonial Avenue, Union, New Jersey in an amount not to exceed $68,800 in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
O-6. Report receipt of bids received on March 7, 2013 for Proposed New Interior Fire Door Replacements at Union High School and bids received on March 14, 2013 for Proposed Boiler Replacements at Burnet Middle School
O-7. The committee recommends and I so move that the board award bid for proposed interior fire door replacements at Union High School to C&M Door Controls, Inc., 20 Markley Street, Port Reading, NJ 07064 for the total base bid of $211,500.
O-8. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve use by the Union Fire Department of the Union High School Field House and the Cooke Field Track from March 18th through July 1st, 2013 between the hours of 7 and 8:15 a.m. for physical training of Union Fire Department’s new hires prior to their daily attendance at the Fire Academy in Linden.
O-9. The committee recommends and I so move that the board award bid for proposed boiler replacements at Burnet Middle School to Silva’s Mechanical Services, 171 Midland Avenue, Kearny, NJ 07032 as follows: Base Bid - $405,000 plus Alternate A-1 – New Blow Off Separator Tank - $16,500 and Alternate A-2 – New Boiler Feed Pump - $35,000 for a total bid of $456,500.
O-10. The Committee recommends and I so move that the Board Secretary be authorized to develop and advertize for bid the lease of a portion of the property at Union High School, together with airspace necessary for the construction of a cellular antenna and related switching equipment , in accordance with NJSA 18A:20-8.2. The Board hereby finds and determines that the proposed site is not needed for school purposes. This lease shall be subject to approval by the Commissioner of Education
O-11. The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve the request of the Township of Union Recreation Department to use Union High School Football Field for Union soccer league games on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the period March 23 through June 16, 2013. If the fields are needed for a school function on any of the above dates, the Recreation Department's permit will be revoked for those days.

P-8. The Superintendent recommends, the committee concurs and I so move that the board allow child of staff member to attend Union Public Schools for the 2013-2014 school year tuition free - A.Z., kindergarten at Hannah Caldwell Elementary School - in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
P-9. The Superintendent recommends, the committee concurs and I so move that the board approve payment to staff for preparation of 2013 Union High School Graduation Booklet at a rate of $600 per person: (a) Gerry Muller; (b) Elizabeth Esposito and (c) John Shaffer
P-10. The Superintendent recommends, the committee concurs and I so move that the board approve increase to purchase order No. 13-01414 to Education, Inc., 2 Main Street, Unit 2, Plymouth, Massachusetts from $10,000 to $15,000 to cover added number of bedside instruction students throughout the district.
P-11. The Superintendent recommends, the committee concurs and I so move that the board approve Occupational Center of New Jersey to do vocational assessments at a rate of $100 per day, not to exceed 10 days or $1,000 (Acct No. 11-000-219-320-01-09) in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.
P-12. The Superintendent recommends, the committee concurs and I so move that the board approve payment of retroactive pay to Nicholas Ardito, Security Director in the amount of $1,995.60 which represents a 2% increase for the time period of September 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 and a 2% prorated increase for the time period September 1, 2012 through March 15, 2013.
P-13. The Superintendent recommends, the committee concurs and I so move that the board approve Robert Ghiretti as a substitute administrator for the Spring 2013 session of the Saturday Academy (January 19th through March 30th, 2013) at a rate of $100 per day for each day he serves as administrator.
